AppleScript Stickyness?
New Year Salutations To All!
Since FM6 I have incorporated some AppleScripting into my solutions but have limited their distribution because they tend to cease functioning when upgrading to a new iteration of FileMaker or installing the files on another computer.
Since about FM8.5 I have discovered if a script produces errors and running the script from ScriptEditor does not reveal any syntax or vocabulary errors, I then open the file in an earlier version of FM, where it usually worked and still does, then re-open it in the later version and it usually then works. Note here that I use calculated ScriptMaker script steps that feed the PerformAppleScript command based on a field value.
Can anyone shed any light on why AppleScript behaves in this 'sticky' manner?
TIA
