FMP 6 Question: Jump to records in tabular report that are missing a value in a field
I posted another related message which also covers this ground, but I
thought I'd also post under this more general subject heading too,
just in case people skip that one.
I have a set of line items. Some of the line items are missing a value
in a field. It's easy enough to find all the records missing the
value, except that I really need to be able to see these records in
the context of the other line items that already have a value in this
field, so I can assign the correct value in the line items missing the
value.
What I'm hoping to do is build a script step that will jump to the
next record in the found set where the value is missing from the
field. I found all these records, created a separate field, and
then populated it with a serial number, so they go, 1, 2 , 3, 4, etc.
Then I did a find for all the line items I need, including items that
already have the value.
I was hoping that Go to Next Record/Request using the above referenced
serial number field, would jump me sequentially through all the
records with the new serial number value. But it didn't work.
If anyone has a different approach to accomplishing my goal here, feel
free to suggest it.
TIA,
JL
