FMPA10 opening files hosted on FMSA11
Hi all
I have a client who has just reported a strange issue.
They recently installed FMSA11. Any client running FMP11 or FMPA11 can open
the databases hosted on the new server.
Any client running FMPA10 receives the following message...
The maximum number of licensed users are currently using this copy of
FileMaker Pro. Please refer to the License Key section of your software
documentation for further instructions.
License key conflict occurred with user "NAME_OF_SERVER_HERE"
All files will be closed and the application will quit
My first response was that 2 clients must have FMP installed with the same
key and they are breaching licensing rules which they will need to rectify.
But then I looked into it a bit closer.
Firstly, this happens when one of the clients tries to open the files when
there is no one at all using FileMaker at the same time (server shows no-one
else connected). They still get the message.
Secondly, which I think is very strange, the license key conflict message is
referring to the Server as the user who is conflicting. The server only has
FMS11 installed on there!
Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks
Ed
