Wondering if someone could tell me the best way to do the following please

I have 9 fields that may or may not contain data.
We'll call them Column1, Column2, Column3 ... Column 9

I then have another 9 fields
NewColumn1, NewColumn2, NewColumn3 ... New Column9

I perform a find for a set of records

Here is where I get stuck

I need NewColumn1 to contain the data in the first non-empty original column
(for the found set of records).
NewColumn2 will contain the data in the second non-empty column
And so on...

So imagine we were looking at 4 fields instead of 9 for the sake of this
example, I have 4 found records with the following information

| Column1 | Column2 | Column3 | Column4
Record1 | | abc | | def
Record2 | | | | ghi
Record3 | | | | jkl
Record4 | | mno | |

In this example, we have 2 columns (fields) that contain data in the whole
of the found recordset, columns 2 & 3. This would need to result in the
following happening

| NewColumn1 | NewColumn2 | NewColumn3 | NewColumn4
Record1 | abc | def | |
Record2 | | ghi | |
Record3 | | jkl | |
Record4 | mno | | |

It is fine for this to be scripted if there is a way to do that.

Can anyone tell me a simple way of doing this please?
