I’m trying to set up a database where a timer calls a script periodically that checks a specific folder where pdf’s are saved by a scanner.

Ideally, the script would check the folder, import all the pdf’s into containers in records, then (in my case) delete the original file(s), leaving only the pdf data in Filemaker.

So far, I have set up a global field where the path to the “watched folder” resides, but I’m stuck at trying to just read the available files in the watched folder. Once I have that information, I would think I should be able to step through them one by one and import, then delete.

Is this something that I can do entirely within Filemaker or will I have to resort to MBS or an external?
