[FMPro] MySQL error when using accent marks in FileMaker (Incorrect string value: '\xE9' for column)
I have a FileMaker database that contains text with special characters such
as accent marks and bullets (Example: =80 Chicken Liver Pat=E9). Whenever I try
to create a record in the MySQL database via an ODBC connection I get an
error if it has one of the special characters. I am pretty sure that this is
an encoding issue. I have tried changing the encoding settings but so far I
have not resolved the error.
>>> Here is the exact error:
ODBC communication/link error. Please check your network connection and/or
database server.
I am a novice with MySQL. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
Thanks.
