[FMPro] Removing item from portal if already chosen
Hi all,
A bit stuck on this one so any help would be appreciated!
Have 3 tables...
Jobs
Applicants
Submissions
Jobs has a field called JobSector
Applicants has a field called ApplicantSector
From the Jobs table, I can call up a job and view a list of ideal applicants
for it...
This uses a portal, displaying applicants where Jobs::JobSector Applicants::ApplicantSector From there I can click a button in the portal
which indicates that a CV/Resume has been sent for that job for that
applicant What this button actually does is creates a record in the
Submissions table which includes the JobID and the ApplicantID based on the
applicant record you are in at the time, and the portal row you click the
button in (which Job)
In jobs I then view a different portal where Jobs::JobID Submissions::JobID There by seeing the applications that have been submitted
for that job
I can also do this the other way around
So in the Applicants table, 2 layouts, 1 with a portal to select the job
(Applicant::ApplicantSector = Jobs::JobSector) and 1 with a portal to see
the jobs that applicant has applied for (Applicant::ApplicantID Submissions::ApplicantID)
All works fine so far.
What I am now looking to do is when in the Applicants table, if I view the
portal to show ideal jobs (match on Sector relationship) I don't want to see
the jobs they have already applied for.
Likewise when in the Jobs table, I don't want to see Applicants that have
already applied.
I was thinking something along the lines of a join field in the submissions
table ApplicantID & JobID Giving a unique reference and using this?
The issue is, it gets slightly more complicated.
In the submissions table a submission can have 1 of 4 status Submitted
Successfully Placed Unsuccessful Submission Cancelled
If the status is Submission cancelled, I DO still want to see it in the
results (i.e. see the Job from the Applicants table and see the Applicant
from the Jobs table)
I hope it all makes sense.
I may be going about it in completely the wrong way.
Any ideas please?
Many thanks
