[FMPro] Text Format Enforcement
Hi, all!
We have a campus code for our each of our campuses. It is in the format WWW-XX-YYYY-ZZ where:
WWW = a country code
XX = a state/province code
YYYY = a city code
ZZ = a campus-type code
I need to validate a free-form text field entry against a string representing this format AAA-AA-AAAA-AA where "A" is an uppercase letter, "a" is a lowercase letter, "N" is a numeric character, etc. and the dashes representing themselves that returns a TRUE if it validates and a FALSE if it isn't.
I could probably write one, but I'd like to not have to re-invent a wheel that someone else has already perfected.
Does anyone know of a custom function that will do this? There seems to be nothing of this type within FMP and I checked BrianDunning.com's custom functions list and found nothing that appears to do the job.
Any suggestions?
TIA!
Steve
