Generating a find script from text
I am working with an election database in FMP.
One of my jobs is producing walking lists for candidates.
I get a list of streets, for example:
Merry WIdow, Ln
Main, St
Pine, St
etc.
which may be comma or tab delimited. I can make it either.
I would like to copy and paste this text into a global field (say)
and, by script, generate finds of the following type:
Action Criteria
Find Records MyTable::STREET: [==Merry Widow] AND MyTable::TYPE [LN]
Find Records MyTable;;STREET: [==Main] AND MyTable::TYPE[ST]
FInd Records MyTable::STREET;[==Pine] AND MyTable::TYPE[ST]
etc.
Omit Records MyTable::PAV: [YES]
Right now I go through the tedious task of doing this finds by typing
in the streets and address (sequentially, using "Add New Request")
Your thoughts please,
Jim
