Importing images using AppleScript
What is the AppleScript syntax for storing an entire image file in a
container field instead of just a reference to the file, if that's
even possible using AppleScript?
It seems the command
set cell "myContainer" to file myFilePath
where myFilePath is a posix file path, only inserts a reference to
the file. So is there an option, a property, or a boolean to specify
embedding rather than storing a reference?
Perhaps there's a way using AppleScript to call a FileMaker script to
accomplish that?
What I'm hoping to do is set up a drop folder that's watched by an
AppleScript script. When an image file is dropped in the folder, the
AppleScript script will create a new record in my Image Database,
insert (embed) the image in a container field, insert a low-res
thumbnail in another container field, and fill in other metadata
fields (size, filename, dates, etc.), then move the image to a Done
folder.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
