I think I have this working now, and without modifying the relationship! I'm
going to send you a copy outside the list in case you'd like to check it or
perhaps suggest a more efficient way of doing this.
Basically, after import, I'm copying the Main table's Unique ID and pasting
I (through a portal) to the other table's Unique ID field. (Set Field
doesn't work here.) After that, the second table is pulling the data for the
other three fields from the corresponding Main Table's fields.
The sticking point was that yes, the blank field WAS shutting down the
script, PLUS I had the calculated field set up wrong so every record was
getting a 0 in that field.
Thanks everyone and especially Michael Gilman for pointing me in various
places.
