I have a question on SQL Server ODBC. I couldn't open the data base diagram in SQL Server because of a permission issue. He wanted labels and merge letters. SInce I couldn't read the ERD diagram I didn't know what the table structure was other than guessing. There was one dbo.address_view so I used that. I couldn't find the specific contact tables only the view. I'm assuming it is a combination of other tables which I don't know.

I haven't come across this before but the view table wouldn't pop up on the RG as a whole table. I could only click each column one at a time. There was no ID field. Is this view still considered a table on the RG?

The other question is what happens if you delete records on the layout? Does that delete records on SQL Server or only on the layout? So assuming that you are only deleting records on that one layout and it doesn't change the SQL database what happens when records get added to the SQL Server? Shouldn't the FM layout show the most recent records.

The view table had tons of duplicates which hopefully can get fixed on the SQL Server side since if you delete the duplicates in Filemaker that doesn't seem like the best way to remove it since more duplicates could be introduced. Janis
