Since iCal and Address Book integration aren't built in, I'm looking for an alternative. Has anyone used this <http://www.qutic.com/product/FM-iCal-Connector>? I'd be interested in hearing your experiences, good or bad.

Right, because Bento uses the same database that OS X uses for those applications. FileMaker does not. You can import from a Bento file, though.
